Galileo gone soon!

Posted by Anke on 09/02 at 12:34 PM I’ll keep this short: the weather is autumn-y, the days are shorter, and the kids are back in school - what better time to sneak out, walk through the city and catch some history of science-related exhibitions and events?

The Galileo exhibit at the Franklin ends September 7th - hurry! (http://www2.fi.edu/exhibits/traveling/galileo/)

11 September: Mütter Lecture/Reading & Book Signing at the College of Physicians Philadelphia: Freaks of Nature, Mark S. Blumberg, PhD: http://www.collphyphil.org/prog_calendar.htm - take your mother-in-law!

On the 22nd, the Chemical Heritage Foundation’s Brown Bag Lectures start up for the season - mark your calendars now: http://www.chemheritage.org/events/event-nav4.html - bring your own lunch (and mine, if you will)!

23rd September: Adventues of a Medical Historian:  Researching “Death is in the Breeze: Disease in the American Civil War” at the Historical Library of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia: http://www.collphyphil.org/prog_calendar.htm - take your whole family! (Maybe not...)

And finally, if all fails, catch the Star Trek IMAX experience (http://www.imax.com/) at Philly’s own ditto (http://www2.fi.edu/theater/imax/theater-info.php) - and catch up on your23rd century science in style.

Happy September!
