View of the exhibition building built after the designs of Alexander B. Barry that displayed all the mechanical processes of making shoes and boots. Includes several fair visitors on the grounds in front of the building. Individuals walk, converse, admire a fountain, enter the hall, and sit on a bench in a small landscaped area. The grounds are lined by a tree and bushes. Also shows part of Machinery Hall in the right of the image. The centennial of the United States was celebrated through an international exhibition of industry, agriculture, and art in West Fairmount Park, Philadelphia.
