Application Form - Grants and Fellowships

Hagley Exploratory Research Grant

Applicants for the Hagley Exploratory Research Grant may submit the online application form (below) and the following materials by one of the following deadlines: March 31, June 30, or October 31. Your application will be evaluated within one month of the submission deadline and should consist of:

  1. A project abstract (maximum length: 150 words).
  2. A Curriculum Vitae
  3. A project description indicating the scope of your research and the existing scholarship with which you engage (maximum length: 1000 words).
  4. A summary of the Hagley research materials that you plan to consult during your residency and how you believe that they may be pertinent to your project (maximum length: 500 words).

Henry Belin du Pont Research Grant

Applicants for Henry Belin du Pont Research Grants may submit the online application form (below) and the following materials by one of the following deadlines: March 31, June 30, or October 31. Your application will be evaluated within one month of the submission deadline and should consist of:

  1. A project abstract (maximum length: 150 words).
  2. A Curriculum Vitae
  3. A project description indicating the scope of your research and the existing scholarship with which you engage (maximum length: 1000 words).
  4. A summary of the Hagley research materials that you plan to consult during your residency and how they are pertinent to your project (maximum length: 500 words).

H. B. du Pont Dissertation Fellowship

Applications for the four-month H. B. du Pont Dissertation Fellowship are due by November 15. Your application will be evaluated within one month of the submission deadline and should consist of:

  1. A project abstract (maximum length: 150 words).
  2. A Curriculum Vitae
  3. A dissertation proposal of any length or a project description of approximately 1,500 words indicating the scope of your research and the existing scholarship with which you engage.
  4. A summary of the Hagley research materials that you will use in your dissertation and how they are pertinent to your project (maximum length: 500 words).
  5. Contact information for two recognized scholars who have agreed to write letters in support of your application.
  6. Optional – you may include a writing sample if you feel it will help the committee to evaluate your dissertation research.

Be sure to have all materials and information ready for submission before proceeding--your documents (in pdf or doc format), the abstract (to type or copy /paste onto the form), and the contact information for your references.
